’57 Chevy 3100
This is another project that is getting slowly worked on. The customer is usually dealing in properties; so he’s not in hurry and keeps changing his mind how he wants it built. We’ve gone from basically stock, to GoodGuys level – I believe we’re now somewhere in between! I have the truck torn apart – now that we’ve maybe come to a conclusion of how to build it – I’m going to have to hurry the progress up before he changes his mind!

The client that owns this car has had it since 1976 – he has stories of street racing and in general just having a great time growing up in this car. The day he bought it and showed it to his Dad; he told him he didn’t need a fast car like that and needed to return it and get his old car back! When they went to the dealership the next afternoon – to his Dad’s surprise, they had already sold his old car! So the young man got to keep it against his Dad’s wishes and has had it since! Needless to say, the story is fairly common after that; family came along, something broke on the car and it got parked in a barn, then another barn! The client has raised the kids; lived a lot of life and now wants his old car back! He was having trouble finding someone that would restore it, and ran across another car I did (57’ Chevy) and started asking the customer who did that for him. The customer told him, said he was pleased and a few other guys also confirmed that he would get quality work from me – so he called and got on the list. After waiting a couple of years, I am now buried in this project for him to bring it back to what he remembers from high school!
